Catching Up on the Stitchers!

Time flies faster than our knitting needles and crochet hooks and sewing needles!
Some photos to prove our busy-ness.

Flora nears the end of her tablecloth embroidery
project! A long haul, but so beautiful in the end!
Linnie created this Belgium Linen vest for  her friend Nancy (modeling). A free-hand
 vest with a
ruffle neck, size two needles!

Molly is always so creative with her
personalized  embroidery!
April 2-14 - and we take joy in being able to sit on Ginny's
deck in the early Spring warmth. What a treat!

Real men DO knit! Here's Ron modelling his
first creation in many years! Bravo!
Maureen has set the record for most afghans made --
she worked on this during a trip to visit her daughter
in Washington state. Wow!
And here's further proof --
another one for a lucky granddaughter!

Ginny models the beautifully soft and stylish
scarf she made for a granddaughter.

Stitching Isn't All We Do

In July, 2013, Flora hosted a delicious (and beautiful) brunch at her home. We were joined by Maureen -- our newest member.

Ginny modeled her gorgeous jacket -- in one of her signature colors. >>>>
Our group: Maureen, Bonnie, Flora, Linnie, Molly, Ginny (missing Sherry).  Flora's husband Jim is visible in the mirror.

September 2013 -- Ginny & Flora admiring Flora's new deck and fall gardens.

We went on a road trip to the Cloisters museum (part of the Metropolitan) to experience an extraordinary  musical exhibit -- and all the rest of the antiquities. We had a wonderful time together, until Linnie was ambushed by a falling acorn on her way down the path from the museum resulting in her own fall. We took her to an emergency orthopedic clinic on our way home. She broke a toe and was down for the count for a LONG time!

Linnie & Maureen

Ginny --with her many artistic talents -- offered to teach us to make jewelry. Molly shows off a beautiful turquoise bracelet presented to her by Ginny.  Her lucky stone!

Bonnie completed another of the ruffle scarves. Sherry, Ginny, and Bonnie have made enough of these to go into business! They make great gifts!

Maureen & Ginny -- a colorful pair (in all ways!). Notice Ginny's new shoes (a great bargain).

Ginny made this bolero jacket for her daughter -- couldn't resist modeling for us.

Maureen shows one of the fun scarves made by Ginny.
Happy New Year to All! 2014 brings us back together after the Christmas holidays.
Flora had a show-and-tell display of her collection of tea towels. She has them displayed in her kitchen, some used as window treatments! Lovely!

Getting Back in the Groove . ..

Lots of time has gone by since the last posting! We are still stitching in Woodbury! Our blog creator Sue has moved to St. Louis -- we all miss you, Sue! Hope you find another group to share your time and talents with.

Here's Molly and Sarah (April 2012) untangling the mystery of a sweater Molly began for her son -- so many years ago. The story has a happy ending: the sweater has been completed and is now being worn by her grandson!
Creation requires patience!
